Dynasty Warriors 6 Controller crash

Hey guys, Two days ago I played dw6 with a friend on my pc and he used a controller - everything was fine. But now when i try to start player 2 with the controller the game just crashes... Without the controller it works fine but when I try to play it with the controller it crashes every time. Please somebody show me a fix or something.
P.S. Sorry for the bad English.

I've been looking into it, it seems to be a reported problem for the PC version and the only help I could find is this topic from the other forums. The last poster gives details to how you could probably solve the issue, so I hope it helps:

That's if you have already done the standard checking all PC specs are capable when playing PC titles, and that you've updated your drivers, etc.
