Default Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky

Well as some probably have heard, a new Atelier game called "Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky" has been announced.
Unlike Atelier Ayesha (which I still haven't gotten around to play yet), from what I've seen, I'm actually really looking forward to this game.

The character designs just seems so much better than Ayesha's design, and even though I usually prefer female main characters, I do like the comeback of a male mc as I kinda preferred having Klein, Felt, Edge and Vayne as the mc and then a female supporting character with them (as that is a somewhat better set up for the characters to become a couple). But at least there will still be a choice between male/female mc.

Though what I'm not to certain over is that the game will apparently use the Dynasty Warriors LTGL engine (which i believe is the graphics engine or something like it). Dunno why they didn't keep their earlier engines as I'm guessing they have to do redo a lot of stuff they already had done or something. And I'm going to guess we'll eventually see a "Atelier Warriors" game soon with how TK's Omega Force and GUST seems to be cooperating on the games now days.

At least with the game being released on June 27th in japan, I presume we might actually see it released in english before the end of this year. And it'll hopefully get a better localization than what Ayesha got.

(Also I thought I'd post this in one of the TK parts of the forums first, but then I didn't know if it should go in the Tecmo part or Koei part, so I put it here with the rest of the atelier threads.)

Some new pictures and details (if you read Japanese) http://stardustsdiary.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-1238.html :>

Gonna play as the boy, how about you guys? It's so nice to have the choice, hopefully there won't be so many creepy pictures if you play the lad.

Well I haven't decided yet who i'll play as first. If it's like Mana Khemia 2 and you get different party members depending on who you chose, that'll certainly have a great impact on who I'll chose. Their attitudes in the game and voices also matter a lot.

Escha's voice actor Rie Murakawa hasn't really done a lot of works, but the few she's done hasn't really been anything special. And kinda leaning towards being annoying as Coco in Fairy Tail.
Can't really read Logy's voice actor's name though so I have no idea if it'll be good or bad. But at least I'm hoping he won't be like Raze in MK2, cause he was terrible (though still better than Ulrika).

I'd say I'm leaning towards Logy at the moment though.

A friend says there's going to be an airship, it would be cool if the DW engine allowed them to let players go across the world as more than just an icon with it.

I kinda like the world map where you chose destination with an "arrow" thing, rather than a completely open world, so I wouldn't really like it if they removed it for a world like those in DW games. But still from what I understand, it's just the DW games graphic engine they're using, so the game shouldn't be that different from other Atelier games. At least that's what I'm guessing.

Seems like you got your wish, the map still looks the same as ever. The environments seem to support more clutter with the new engine. There are a few clipping issues though. http://news.dengeki.com/elem/000/000/618/618583/

Official website. Seems to come with a download code for Mana Khemia 2, it'll be interesting to see if we get the same.

Well it would make some sense, as we europeans never got MK2 for PS2, so I'm guessing those who never imported it would be very, very happy about it.

Well having a guy as the main lead will make for a nice change, considering it's been female dominated for the PS3 titles. Nice welcome change. I like that they seem to be shaking things up a little, keeps things from getting stale IMO.

This would certainly make for a nice little bonus, especially for those that didn't import.
